released from
some kind of burden
you are light as air
& heavy as clouds
god did not leave –
not there to begin with
as they would
like you to believe
the world is yours now
but nothing will free you
from death and
to nowhere will you go

Thank you.
I am not anti-religion.
Nor am I saying become an atheist.
But I did want to capture the loneliness of the abandonment of God. I think that is what scares people, as a way to make us think about our relationship to Him.
I didn’t think the content will jive with many. I think of writing as fiction.

I don’t like what this says, of course, but it is really well written. A good poem.
