Does anyone know anything about the 30 Days of Sustainability event in Vancouver, Canada? It has this great looking website but I have heard little about it. A great idea that perhaps can be mimicked elsewhere.

Hi there,
I’m the manager of content and community for the 30 Days of Sustainability website. I just wanted to say that the idea from the start has very much been to create an event that could be replicated anywhere, and indeed to plant those seeds around the world.
This is the first year for this event, and while there is a lot going on, I also see it as an opportunity to try things out, and gather wisdom for the future 30 Days, here and elsewhere. It’s an idea with a ton of potential for raising awareness!
If you want to get in touch with the organizing committee and chat more about that possibility, contact me and I’ll hook you up.

Hi there!
I live here in Vancouver and i can tell you this event is gathering lots of momentum. Don’t know details much about it other than it’s going to take place all over the city with exhibition places centrally located in downtown and bringing all kind of like-minded people to present their ideas on sustainability (no matter how simple or crazy they are…it’s all about raising awareness without fear to changes). Myself, i am in close contact to a small grup of young professionals called the Design Nerds (http://www.designnerds.ca/aboutus.html) making noise with fun and meaninful built ideas.
If you want more details on the Design Nerds or 30 Days of Sustainability, you may want to contact my friend Eesmyal Santos (eesmyal@shaw.ca) who’s very much involved.
But i agree with you, this should be mimick elsewhere. As a chielan architect living and working here, i am promoting the idea down in Chile (if you read some spanish, check http://www.duranarquitectos.cl/)
it’s one world, one responsability.
congrats on your blog!
